Floral flag restored as bicentennial tribute in San Marino
San Marino staff led by Ed Forde and Richard Crissman repaired and rededicated the blue and white floral flag at Huntington Drive and San Marino Avenue. Paul Almanza, son of Dr and Mrs Robert Almanza, helped the display, a unique national symbol created by the historical society for the 200th anniversary. The project, initiated by Midge Sherwood, involved the city Parks Department for planting and lighting and featured a dedication ceremony with Congressman Ture speaking at this first Bicentennial observance on November 2, 1975.

It has appeared in Southern California and other states with high mortality even with treatment. An new two shot vaccine exists but is unproven long term. High-speed chase ends in deadly collision in San Marino
A 25-mile pursuit from Vernon to San Marino ended in a violent crash at Los Robles Avenue and Mission Road. Aubrey L. Teters, 51, of Alhambra, remained in critical condition after his Datsun struck by a heavier Ford driven by Robert Randle Jr. of Los Angeles, who fled police. The crash drew in units from Los Angeles, South Pasadena and San Marino with police helicopters, and paramedics rushed Teters to Huntington Memorial Hospital.
