M. S. McGuffin of Lorain road was named 1962 Heart Fund Chairman by Emerson Spear of the Los Angeles County Heart Association. McGuffin, vice president of United California Bank, has been active in civic affairs in the area and Los Angeles. He will recruit 58 008 volunteers for the February drive as public and professional education funds over heart disease. Chet Gilgen resigns as manager of the San Marino Community Pool effective end of summer after seven successful seasons. He plans to devote work at Huntington School and thanked mothers, fathers, Water Safety Instructors, the Department, and the Recreation Commission for their support in running the 10 week training period and related events.
San Marino residents order tickets for a September 15 game between Los Angeles and Milwaukee to benefit the stadium fund. 2000 seats reserved by the Women's Committee include box seats and Knot Hole sections priced 5 and 4 dollars. Proceeds support the Colosseum project with bus transport and Knot Hole badges arranged through Edward T. Brewster at Security National Bank.

Seven year old Robert C Lieber of Mill Canyon road was cuffed by a young adult in Lacy Park last Sunday around noon while talking with friends. The man knocked the boy from his bike and cuffed him and then left. Police report the suspect remains at large and has not been apprehended.
