Jet Pilot Sets Korea Combat Record By Flying Four Jets
Captain James Gallagher son of Mr and Mrs James A Gallagher of Charlton road completed 100 combat sorties in Korea as an F 80 Shooting Star pilot. He led a four jet armed reconnaissance mission diving on an enemy convoy destroying nine trucks and continuing attacks after fuel tanks were shot away. His flight of four F 80s was later jumped by nine MIGs with no losses.
