Police Chief Butler to lead Glendora force

San Marino Police Chief Paul Butler, 44, will leave San Marino after 20 years to become Glendora chief Aug 25. He replaces Oliver Posey, retired July 10, chosen from 60 candidates to oversee 53 officers. Butler’s salary rises from 72000 to 81600. he lives in Glendora with wife Diana and sons Andy 17 and David 15. He is active in Glendora Little League and Youth Soccer.

Death With Dignity Act debated at Arcadia hospital forum

At Methodist Hospital Arcadia a panel of four speakers discussed Proposition 161 the Death With Dignity Act on the November ballot. Recreation Department Offers Before and After School Programs

The San Mario Recreation Department runs before school from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and after-school 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for grades 1 through 5, starting Sept. 10 with Aug. 24 registration. Fees range from $30 to $60 monthly or $8 daily with a $64 deposit. Carver also offers a before program 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. with breakfast and $30–$50 monthly, $5 daily with $40 deposit. Minimum enrollment required.

Alhambra and San Marino discuss street diverters
