Two Crashes Occur Here Friday Night
Friday night saw two minor crashes requiring ambulances. Dan Curry of Temple City overturned on Los Robles near Marengo and was treated at Huntington Hospital. A bicycle rider, Merlyn Bell of El Monte, struck by Monroe Kerner on San Marino Avenue, was hospitalized with bruises but no broken bones.

Dr Robert Lynn Moore has received a commission as a major and will enter the Air Corps medical division. He is to be stationed temporarily at Kirtland Field Albuquerque departing San Marino August 17. The Moores reside at 2103 Roanoke Road and have lived in the city for three years. Dr Moore previously established an office in Pasadena. Mrs Moore and the children Kam Lynn Sammy and Richard will remain in San Marino until a permanent location is set.

Burglar Intercepted at Pierre's Cafe After Midnight
An attempted burglary at Pierre's Restaurant 2295 Hunt Drive ended when the owner’s nephew, Bill Gatsos, arrived and frightened off the intruder. Entry was attempted via a rear window. no items were stolen. The thief left behind a hat, a wrench, and a pocket knife.

Last Group of S. M. Boy Scouts Leave for Camp
The fifth and last group of Boy Scouts from the Pasadena-San Gabriel Valley Council departed Pasadena for Camp San Antonio, describing the summer wartime camp as the best yet. Rath Joins U S Air Force as Captain in wartime call
