The county reports an average rise in San Marino property values with total assessed valuation for the year ending June 30, 1967 at 63,490. Permits issued reached 1,730,722. Construction subcommittee and trustees authorize placing funds in General or Special Reserve to cover future needs.
The San Marino City Council discussed the 1967 468 budget and possible tax rates at last night’s meeting but deferred final action until later this month pending official city assessment figures due by August 21. The rate must be set before August ends. The figure is expected around $1.45 per $100 of valuation, higher than last year’s $1.57 but not the final amount. Haverkamp played a key role in Gilendale’s effort.
