City Fire Loss Shows Decrease in 1956 Through July
Fire Chief Lan os hag reports a drop in losses for the first seven months of 1956 to Ata $4868 total for July and $20,772 saved attributed to prevention efforts. Despite fewer inspections this year, total losses for January–July 1956 fell from $25,640.58 in 1955. Sixteen alarms were answered last month including six for burning contents, two for rubbish, four for brush, and four for auto and miscellaneous. One smoke scare alarm was turned in and five rescuer and other emergency calls were logged.
