Live Animals at San Marino Public Library Read Along
Wildlife on Wheels presents Bill Peet's Farewell to Shady Glade at the San Marino Public Library on Saturday August 10 at 2 p.m. The program features live animals representing story characters after the reading and aims to educate children and adults in an engaging way. WOW, a nonprofit from the San Fernando Valley, brings animal ambassadors to libraries and schools and also rescues and rehabilitates injured or displaced wildlife. The event is free and part of a four part series coordinating elementary programs.

Six week Huntington summer architecture class at Huntington Middle School in Room 107 ends with 26 middle school students completing a hands on survey of architecture. Twelve girls from Kinjo Gakuin High School in Nagoya Japan spent four days living with San Marino and La Canada families to observe everyday life. They shopped at Santa Anita Mall and Old Town Pasadena, saw a Dodger game, learned the Macarena, and tried pizza and tacos. The homestay program, run by San Marino Community Church, aims to show day to day life rather than tourism.
