A new concept in law enforcement called NERBIT was implemented in Los Angeles on July 1, announced by Lt. R H Smith of the Pasadena Police Department. Participation is voluntary with Pasadena hosting the office and providing space and support.
Since 1955 the work week project has granted over 150 scholarships to San Marino students. The fund, boosted by donations from neighbors and merchants, totals more than $1,500. Recipients are confidential and selections rely on financial need. The scholarship committee includes Principal Jack Rankin and Vice Principals Dr. Carol Lambert and Dr. Philip Miller with PTSA officers.
