Three Minor Fires Reported in San Ma Homes
Fire officials responded to three small blazes this week in San Ma area. A parffin on the kitchen stove at R. E. Phillips home on Somerset caused $25 damage with the 9:47 p.m. July 31 blaze. Mrs. W. L. Strong residence at 2640 Lorain road suffered $35 damage from a hot lamp bulb fire at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, scorched blanket and dresser. Earlier on Virginia road 1512, brakes on a car driven by Mrs. Roy Herndon smoked, with damage limited to the brakes.

Ball Field To Receive PA System For Fall Sports
An outdoor public address system will be purchased this month for all high school athletic events and available for the football season this fall. It will cost about $500 and be paid from last year’s fund raised by high school football enthusiasts. Death Takes Irving G. King San Gabriel industralist and Rotarian
Irving G. King, longtime San Gabriel area industrialist and past president of the San Marino Rotary, died July 31 at his home. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Little Stone Chapel, Turner Stevens and Turner Alhambra. He lived near San Marino 13 years and was born in Chicago, active in multiple clubs and veterans groups. Survived by widow Etta L. King, two daughters, and four grandchildren.

The completed design shows San Marino avenue extended to Euston and Sierra Madre, removing the one way restriction.
