Ken Johns joined the Huntington Libray Art Collections and Botanical Gardens as planned giving officer. Former Braille Institute of Los Angeles director of planned giving since 1986, he led life income plans and financial seminars. A Sierra Madre resident, father of three, grandfather of four, he holds a BA from Life College.

Grad Night Grilling Parents Keep San Marino Tradition
For nearly 25 years a group of San Marino fathers has manned the Grad Night burgers at San Marino High School. Beginning with the now defunct Exchange Club, Peterson and Virgil Fornas return each year to serve. They also run a cart to shuttle pizzas from Tony's Pizza. Grad Night 1990 marks their fourth decade of support for seniors.

Local Swimmers Win Medals At National Junior Olympics
San Marino swimmers under Arroyo Seco Aquatica coached by Brian Murphy qualified for the National Junior Olympics in Iowa City. The group, including Louis Breton Mark Deetjen Danny Kanner and Travis Miller, reached finals and consolation rounds with Miller winning the 200 yard backstroke consolation, Kanner placing 11th in the 1650 free, and a strong 400 Medley Relay showing the team in the leading position before evening finals.
