City earns large insurance premium rebate for San Marino
San Marino received a 68 599 rebate from the Southern California Joint Powers Insurance Authority. City councilman Joe Lewis, a board member, says San Marino has one of the largest dividends among 35 member cities. The self insurance program saved the city over 300 000 in three years while maintaining claim controls. The fund backs coverage for employees with a reserve exceeding one million dollars.
