Capistrano Unifieds Child Safety Fair Planned at Dana Hills
Capistrano Unified School District outlines a free community extravaganza on November 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dana Hills High School in Dana Point. The event, produced with the Orange County Sheriffs Department and Fire Authority, features fingerprinting and DNA swabbing, Megan’s Law checks, safety demonstrations, a parade of champions, bloodhound and rappelling demos, and bike and water safety sessions, all aimed at protecting children and aiding families.

Family Pow Wow at Clarence Lobo Elementary Concludes Red Ribbon Week
Kasey Clifton nine and his brother Dylan three grind corn on a stone to make tortillas during the Family Pow Wow at Clarence Lobo Elementary. They are eleventh generation descendants of Clarence Lobo, the Juaneno Tribe chief after whom the school is named. The Lobo PTA sponsored the event featuring a pumpkin patch, crafts, cake walk and prizes as Red Ribbon Week ended. Kennedy Underwood four has her face painted in an American Indian style. Local youths earn Eagle Scout rank for storage sheds
Chris Deaner and Nicolas Adams completed service projects with Boy Scout Troop 737 at Our Lady of Fatima to advance toward Eagle Scout. Deaner built a Laura's House storage shed in Pico Plaza, raised funds, and organized toy and supply reorganization. Adams built a 10 by 12 metal storage building at Bernice Ayer Middle School storing drama property after 100 plus service hours. Deaner graduated from San Clemente High School and attends Cal Poly SLO. Adams, eighth grade ASB president, plans an Eagle Court of Honor in December after a board of review.
