Warman Falls Short At 91st California Amateur At Pebble Beach
Mark Warman, a 1999 San Clemente High grad, reached the quarterfinals of the 91st California Amateur at Pebble Beach, losing 6 and 5 to Buzz Peel who then fell 1 up to Eddie Heinen in the semifinals. Warman, 20, posted a 149 in 36 holes and was the lone Orange County resident to reach match play from the area. He heads to the North and South Amateur at Pinehurst Resort, June 30 to July 5.

Kristen Caverly, 17, San Clemente High graduate, captured the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:32.73 and the 400 IM in 4:51.10 at the TYR Swim Meet of Champions in Mission Viejo. She also placed well in several other events, reflecting a strong postgrad performance after grad night.
