Woman completes marathon on all seven continents
Beth Sanden, 60, of San Clemente, finished the Antarctic Marathon on Feb 19 using a handcycle after a 10 hour 57 minute race. The prior cycling accident in 2002 left her partially paralyzed, and she completed the final continent after four years of pursuit, amid penguin scented bike jokes and cheering crowds.
