Casa Tropicana owner backtracks on sale plans
San Clemente entrepreneur Rick Anderson, owner of the Casa Tropicana Bed & Breakfast Inn and Rick's Tropicana Bar & Grill, has decided not to sell his Pier Bowl property at 610 Avenida Victoria after all. He will lease out the Trap to a veteran Scotsman in January, turning it into an upscale seafood restaurant with a Spanish Mediterranean theme, while keeping the upstairs B&B. The project could open in February or March, and Anderson will remain a public figure in the city.
