A band of horseback desperadoes fired on Judge Palmer's home in Lytton Springs Caldwell County. Posse units pursued the gang to Holder's Tank near Lockhart with a fierce gunbattle leaving Penn Roberts Tim Rob dits Louis Cardwell and Frank Williams wounded. Authorities report the robbers remain at large as fear of further attacks grows.
Gen eal Wood governor of Cuba arrives in Washington to confer with President Roosevelt and the Secretary of War on transferring active control of Cuba’s wars to the Cuban republic. He outlines military evacuation plans and will travel to Cuba via New York to consult with President elect Palma on a program of action.

St. Petersburg report states Col. Grimm condemned to death at Warsaw has confessed to high treason. About sixty arrests linked to the trial have followed, with Grimm accused of revealing Russia's war plans to Germany over ten years. His wife allegedly denounced him in revenge for another relationship.
