Special to the Sunday Lipit reports Sherill Perkins of Calcasion Parish Ta arrives to take charge of Ed Batson who is held for the murder involving the Bart family. Batson’s box was opened in the presence of Mrs Payne and officers, contents examined. Batson’s mother Mrs Fes Dayne accompanies him on the journey to Lake Charles. Batson’s relatives remain distressed over the case as the pursuit continues.

Josiah B Capes aged two, one of Austin's oldest citizens, died at his home this afternoon. His father Dr James W Capes, a well known physician, survives with a wife and four children.
Chicago March 1 report that the Southern Pacific railroad filed notice withdrawing from the Southwestern Passenger Bureau citing high costs after Missouri Kansas and Texans line left. Rail officials say the bureau’s future looks bleak with dissolution predicted as costs mount.
District Attorney Carey Bee commented that Mr. W. Anderson resigned from his assistant position due to better pay in private practice, not politics. Bee said he regrets the resignation and would welcome Anderson back if he wished to return.

Mrs Viney Roberts sues J Keuser a local saloon keeper in Fifty third district court for 1000 dollars claiming he sold liquor to her 16 year old son on several occasions. Attorneys listed are F Horstman and P Li Meyer.
In Cleveland the floor of the four story Cleveland Baking Company building collapsed this morning. Ten workers were on the floor when it fell into the debris. Firefighters rescue several girls from the third floor and hospitalize six others. Authorities fear additional bodies are buried beneath the wreckage with ongoing search and rescue operations.
