A resignation is expected or he may be removed if he does not quit within a reasonable time. The administration cites the indiscretion as the reason for possible action.

Addie Murphy daughter of S G Murphy bank president elopes with John C Breckinridge grandson of the Kentucky figure who ran against Lincoln. Murphy disinherits daughter after their elopement in San Jose where the couple wed. Breckinridge earns $400 a month and faces inquiry into the union.
A Washington dispatch says four Michigan Republicans who opposed the presidents Cuba reciprocity plan were refused renomination. Sheldon of the Twelfth district, key in opposing the measure, was blocked along with Henry C. Smith Edgar G Weeks and Henry H Alpin, all who historic ally opposed the Cuba relief effort.

Internal Revenue Collector Souer will be displaced, W E Howell to take Mint Boothby’s place, and R L Suthon to replace Boothby, with further changes planned as Lily White Republicans seize federal offices.
