Tragic House Fire Claims Seven Year Old John Elsing
A fire at a five room cottage on Oak Street destroyed the home of Fireman Barney Elsing and killed his seven year old son John. The blaze began under the house near the bathroom and the boy suffocated in smoke after trying to reach safety. The house valued at 1800 dollars was not insured and remains were found in the front room. The family, including Mrs Elsing and two other children, were relocated to a neighboring dwelling.
