Articles of incorporation filed in Phoenix announce the Los Angeles and Pasadena railway company to build a Los Angeles to Pasadena line at an estimated cost of 1,000,000. Incorporators include Andrew McBally D B Dewey J W Hagers and General M H Sherman from Chicago Pasadena and Phoenix respectively.
Wrightson Printing company has assigned to D W Carroll with assets around 15000 and liabilities near 30000. The death of founder Thomas Wrightson contributed to the failure, marking a key cause in the bankruptcy.

Five year old John Conway abducted Monday by his uncle Joseph Hardy and H G Blake. Hardy arrested. Blake escaped and was pursued by police. Blake directed Argus men to the country with the boy, then returned. Blake was robbed of ransom, drew a revolver and fled.
In New Orleans an extensive scheme defrauded the state by illegal handling of judicial stamps. A Bonbon street dealer supplying cancelled and uncancelled stamps was arrested after investigators traced missing stamps from court documents. Indictments were issued. authorities warn a larger scandal may unfold as probes continue.
G W Vaughn and wife, returning from Nashville Centennial, sued over being forced to ride in a white car. They allege inconvenience and discomfort and were awarded 150 damages in Justice court. The case was appealed and will go to the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Fayetteville West Virginia August 21 Albert Voters a member of the Lewis gang of murderers under death sentence for execution next Tuesday escaped from jail just before daylight. The sheriff and a posse pursued him. Jerry Brown is also condemned to hang with Voters.
Rev J Haughton long time pastor of St James Episcopal Huntington and church at Tyrone was found dead in bed at his home yesterday morning He was a Salt Lake City native and served the local and Tyrone parishes for two years
Costa Rica requests the United States mint bureau coin 600000 colons under the new gold friendly coinage system and to obtain gold bars to coin an additional 400000 colons. The colon equals forty six cents with a gold to silver ratio of 82 to 1. Costa Rica’s bank sold its silver before price declines and reportedly profited.
Louis Titus of San Francisco begins his third college year by proxy at the University of California. He spent a year as a regular student in Berkeley, passed his bar admissions exams, and his wife acts as his proxy in classrooms while he remains on this side of the bay. She reviews his work each evening and he has earned credit on every examination so far.
The Rev. Perry Hopkins, bishop of the American African Union Methodist church, died in New York on Friday at age 75. A former preacher in the city, he belonged to planter Robert Gamble in Maryland, who bought his freedom and brought him to the city forty five years ago. Last evening he preached on the "Mysteries of Deaths."

A Lima dispatch says an eastbound freight train collided with an excursion train near Lima on Lake Erie and Western railway last night. Five killed and twelve seriously injured. Two passenger coaches wrecked.
The chief of coast and geodetic survey stated that the Klondike gold region is beyond dispute in British territory. He noted that once the Alaska Canada boundary is settled there will be no major map changes, with Dawson City about a hundred miles east of the boundary meridian.
