Rex Press assistant manager of KTLA was elected governor of the tenth district at the Advertising Federation of America annual convention in Ft Worth. The district covers Texas and four neighboring states with a membership of advertising executives and personnel from newspapers radio trade journals and agencies.
Fredericksburg Sept 25 a meeting of the Democratic executive committee of the 85th district to select a nominee for the late Rep Tom Martin was postponed to later this week to align with Llano county plans. Gillespie County chair Tom Schmidt said the delay allows the Llano committee to endorse or suggest preferred fill for the seat previously held by Martin. The Gillespie body had previously endorsed Mrs Lela Martin widow of Rep Martin as nominee.
