Board of Education approves staffing changes and new hires
San Antonio Board of Education approved several actions at a regular meeting. Mrs. R L Bogan, replacing her resigned husband, will teach at Agnes Cotton Elementary. Mrs E O Maffety becomes cafeteria director earning 225 monthly starting October 1. Miss Mary Ammons is hired part time to teach cosmetology in Metro schools. A request for continued Maldcraft classes received a self sustaining reply. Five lanterns with blowers and screens plus five geography films were bought for 950. Fuel oil at 1.35 per barrel from Phoenix Refining for about 4500 barrels. Ten instructors placed on night school call list. Evelyn Ware granted leave from Oct 15 for study. Dr James P Hollers presided.

Suspect Held After $444 Theft in California Fugitive Case
A 48 year old California fugitive was held in custody after theft of 444 dollars from Mrs B Suprum of 822 Cypress street. Detectives traced the suspect to a Greyhound terminal where he boarded a bus to Houston. Sheriff A W Baegert arrested him in Seguin and returned him to San Antonio. Authorities said he carried over 400 dollars. Police were notified he was wanted in Los Angeles on grand theft charges.
