Husband Arrested for False Swearing in Impromptu Wedding
Within 48 hours after a marriage to Ollie Lewis, Johnnie Johnson was arrested on a charge of false swearing filed by the bride’s mother Addie Williams. Johnson posted a $300 bond after waiving examination in Justice Campbell's court and was released. The mother asserts the bride was about 17, not 18, when married and learned of the union only after it occurred.
