Wall Collapse From Sudden Gust Destroys Vacant Furniture Building
A sudden gust toppled the last wall of Mousehold Furniture, trapping six workers as the three story building, dated to the turn of the century and owned by Alamo National Bank, was being demolished. Foreman Benny Howell and worker Toe Copada recalled calm air before the gust, with debris and rocks flying as the wall buckled. The site, slated for a parking lot, had been used by the bank during remodeling.
