Saltillo man pleads not guilty to marijuana importation charges

John Wesley Lusty, 32, arraigned in San Antonio on three counts involving 670 pounds of marijuana. He pleads not guilty to all counts before Federal Judge Advan Spear. Indictment accuses conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and importation. Potential penalties reach five years and $250,000. Marijuana seized May 160 near Uvalde. alleged co-conspirators indicted.

Coastal States Gas Chief Admits Short on Deliveries

Coastal States Gas Corp chief executive Wyatt told the Texas House Energy Crisis Committee the supplier cannot meet all current contractual demands. He said reserves and its unit Lo Vaci Gathering Co supply only a fraction of required gas, with 109,943 MMCF left for San Antonio under the 1962 contract promising five trillion cubic feet daily.
