Bee County ginned 12 392 bales before Sept 1 and projections suggest harvest could top 1 000 bales before season end. Government figures released Sept 1 compare Bee and Live Oak counts with prior year results and note average yields around 12 000 to 13 40 bales.
The Pro Turismo tourist association of Tampico plans to boost American tourism. A meeting is set for September 27 or 28 with Tampico business leaders to discuss attracting American visitors, with delegates invited from Laredo Brownsville and other U.S. cities.

Battery F Twelfth Field Artillery has been named the best battery in the Second Field Artillery Brigade for the second year. It will represent Fort Sam Houston in November for the Knox trophy, competing in a 14 mile march, firing problem, interior economy and communications probe. Commanded by Captain 1Fo Togers the unit will face other brigades under Maj To Tt Donghertr and captains Flenie 4 Schrare, A W Turner, and R V Allen.
Grover Colling is appointed deputy under Jack Burke, serving as county clerk for the Elks in San Antonio. Colling, longtime emissary of the order, notes Burke’s rising statewide influence and claims to know more locals by first names than any other man in the city.
