During the Gillespie county fair in Fredericksburg Texas aviator Jack Miller fell from his aircraft while serving as an exhibition flyer. He crashed, was found beneath the wreckage, and died an hour later in a hospital. authorities said his back was broken and the cause may remain unknown. Opening day at the fair featured a parade, large stock and agricultural displays, vendor booths, and performances by Hoelzer's Military Band with visitors from San Antonio and other towns.
