Independent taxi operators and drivers have enlisted counsel to file an injunction against the city to block enforcement of a taxicab bond ordinance requiring a 310,000 bond for all taxis. The move comes after a conference with Mayor, Commissioner Wright, and City Attorney Gobbs Jr. The city says bonding safeguards the public and passengers, noting hundreds of individually owned cabs operate without any pledge of responsibility.
