Texas Cotton Crop Forecast From September Conditions
The Agriculture Department reports a Texas cotton crop of 4 107 000 bales from 17 575 000 acres. Weevil damage, heat and drought hurt yields, with late planted acreage abandoned heavily and pests reducing output. Frost risks and dry spells threaten further losses, while some rain and damp conditions offer partial relief.
