The census bureau reports 771,415 bales ginned by Sept 1, 1911, far surpassing prior years. Texas leads in both total bales and percentage of crop ginned, aided by hot dry weather and early maturing climate, with ginners active across the belt.

The Our Lady of Guadalupe congregation on San Fernando street will bless a newly purchased bell at 6 o clock Sunday afternoon. Bishop J W Shaw cannot attend and will appoint a delegate to conduct the ceremony in his place. The bell was bought by congregational subscriptions. The Theresean Sisters began overseeing the adjoining school on September 1.
