Sultans Visit Cambridge and Jester Cole’s London Pranks
A Windsor era spoof unfolds with the Sultan of Agnailier touring Cambridge University in ceremonial style. The prankster Henry Cole staged a mock royal visit prompting local officials and dignitaries to host and escort a fictitious dignitary, while London papers printed outrageous reports. The piece contrasts Cole’s unconventional humor with real world figures and events, detailing his past gags and the public reaction, ending with hopes he may marry and settle down.
