Secret 1968 Texas vending crime links probe
In 1968 a hidden Texas inquiry linked organized crime to the vending industry but law officers did not pursue the leads. Former Rep. Dick Cory said indictments were anticipated and witnesses underwent polygraph tests. DPS said tests were limited to one witness. A federal court order blocked release of the secret testimony and tapes.
