Comet Kohoutek to light up Southeast skies this fall
Knight News Service reports a bright new comet named Kohoutek will appear in the morning Southeastern sky starting around Nov 4 or 5. It will brighten through November and December with a growing tail, reaching peak brilliance around Christmas before fading after a 110,000 mile long head and tail. Astronomers say the comet could be brighter than Halley’s in 1986 and reenters space in about 75,000 years.
