Overland Cars Stir Arizona Speed Controversy
Phoenix distributor Overland-Arizona Company modified an Overland touring car with a shortened wheel base rear gear and altered cam shaft and an aluminum body. The car reportedly reached 90 miles per hour at 3000 rpm and averaged seventy on second gear. It won Winslow races recently on a rough track at 5000 feet altitude without a fan and finished cool enough to touch the radiator. The claim highlights speed capabilities of Willys-Overland machines.
