Society aviatrix Ruth Nichols visited San Antonio flying from Houston in a Crosley radio ship. She set multiple women’s records including New York to Los Angeles in 16 hours 59 minutes 30 seconds and Los Angeles to New York in 13 hours 21 minutes 43 seconds. Her altitude record reached 28742 feet and she clocked 210.65 mph. She plans to retry an Atlantic crossing when weather improves and then proceed to California to pursue further records.
