Stabilization Plan Limits Job Changes in South Texas
A new employment stabilization plan restricts workers in essential industries from changing jobs within 60 days unless they hold an availability certificate issued by their previous employer or the U S Employment Service and the new employer is in an essential activity. Certificates may be issued for discharge, indefinite layoff, undue hardship, substandard wages or conditions, or failure to provide a wage adjustment. An appeal process exists through the U S Employment Service.
