Texas Merchants Not Required to Register for Food Drug Fees
The Texas attorney general ruled that merchants who sell food and drugs in retail form, and order some items from outside the state, are not required to register with the pure food and drug department or pay the $1 annual fee. The decision emphasizes they are not manufacturers and the law likely did not intend to cover every out of state order.
