Gas Dealers To Meet In San Antonio Over Price Controls
San Antonio gasoline retailers plan a 7 pm meeting at El Tropicano Hotel to decide if they will organize a local protest of federal price controls or join a state wide action. About 500 retailers were invited. Bill Burch of the Texas Petroleum Retailers Association represents local dealers. The Cost of Living Council approved baseline price caps, but wholesale increases cannot be passed to consumers. Burch favors a statewide protest over local action to gain relief amid shutdowns in cities like Houston.
