Ragpicker Otto Macon’s Hidden Hoard Found After Fire
In Miami the 69 year old ragpicker Otto Macon was ruled mentally incompetent last year and sent to a nursing home. Neighbors had complained of nude driveway showers and junk-filled yard. An attic stash of cash jewelry stocks and bonds worth about 32000 remained hidden in his frame house until a weekend fire uncovered it. Firefighters counted 32000 in coins and usable bills plus 2500 damaged bills. His attorney will seek guidance from a judge on guardianship and who may claim relatives now.
