SAHA Budget Crisis Threatens San Antonio Public Housing
SAHA may operate at a deficit in 1973 after a $4.5 million budget was rejected by the San Antonio Housing Authority. HUD officials cited reduced rent subsidies, with only $200,000 to $500,000 likely, forcing potential rent increases and possible tenant relocations. The board approved three bids for antennas, waste compactors, and vinyl flooring despite crisis concerns.
