Toledo man held for hammer slayings of music teacher and mother in law
INDIANA TOLEDO Nov 1 A partially deaf Toledo businessman Balding Jehu Harding 67 described by police as meek and mild was held today for the hammer slayings of his music teacher and her mother in law. Authorities said he confessed after being brought from Detroit suburb Grasse Pointe Woods where he said he was driven by the candor of pianos and violins and an urge to kill. He will be arraigned for the killings of Mrs Mildred Campton Harding 46 his wife and Mrs Wred Thompson 70 his mother in law. Police quoted him saying he killed his wife because he suspected she had been untrue and beat his mother in law when she ran into the room where his wife lay. Harding arrived at Mrs Robert Goodhand's home and blurted he had left the new woman dying in his Toledo home. He said the urge to kill had seized him for days due to his wife's alleged adultery.
