A mob battered the county jail in Chickasha Oklahoma after a Black man was shot and stabbed by a husband. National guard units arrived to restore order as the prisoner was removed. The mob attempted to burn the jail and threaten officers but the scene subsided without further violence. The injured man was taken to a hospital and later returned to the jail.
