Steamship Firms Withdraw Demurrage Pact With Texas Rail Lines
Steamship companies entering Galveston port notify railroads they will withdraw from the demurrage agreement effective June 22. Sunset-Central agents are told to issue no more through bills of lading and to export freight from any Texas port, while notifying connecting line agents. Coastwise lines with published rates and interstate commerce commission approval are exempt.
