Lt. Gov. Barnes says Senate will vote on a teacher pay raise costing the state 61.9 million next school year while House leaders move toward passing a 2.84 billion one year general appropriations bill to Gov. The bill funds 2.84 billion across all funds, with 570.8 million from general revenue. Bills to subsidize Baylor medical and dental enrollments and a new minimum wage compromise were also advanced. Constitutional changes approved would tax agricultural land by productivity and raise homestead exemption city lot value from 5 000 to 10 000.
