Maxwell reorganizes with price cuts and new assets
The Maxwell Corporation amid a West Virginia reorganization plans a May 1 sale of properties to a new outfit led by Walter Chrysler. The move lowers touring car, roadster, and sedan prices, restoring prewar levels. The assets include large plants in Detroit Dayton Newcastle and Windsor, with $15 million in new cash pledged. The change follows the wartime shipping and production shifts and aims to revive the Maxwell brand under a nationwide distribution and manufacturing strategy.
