Vote on 19-year-old voting age moves in Texas House

The Texas House debated lowering the voting age from 21 to 19 led by Rep James Nowlin. He argued changes since 1876 justify the move, noting 400000 Texans would be affected and citing support from national leaders. The motion to table passed 85 to 54 and a later amendment to fix the age to 21 was proposed by Rep Delwin Jones.
