Gibraltar Oil and Refining absorbs Reserve Oil and Leasing

The Gibraltar Oil and Refining Company of Galveston announces it has taken over the Reserve Oil and Leasing Company. Gibraltar, capitalized at 5,000,000, will issue stock to stockholders of the merged concern. Directors include C. Clark and H. H. Mowers. stockholders reside in San Antonio and other Texas locations.

Wood Denies Papen Plot Involving Attacks On Cities

Maj Gen Leonard Wood, former Eastern Department commander, dismissed a Papen attack plot claim as reported by the Associated Press. He said U.S. had no taked plan to attack New York or Chicago and denied any witch hunt against Papen. A separate note reports confectioners discussing sugar’s role in candy at the National Confectioners Association convention in St. Paul on May 28.
