A woman attorney appeared in Gore parish court Thursday for the first time and won her case. Miss Violet Achoefer argued a negligence civil action, marking a notable early achievement for a woman lawyer in the jurisdiction.
Ed King 73, believed dead by relatives for three decades, arrived at Fort Worth Central Police Station last April seeking shelter. He had lived in a boarding house for two days before officers found more than $4000 on him. Guardianship assigned to Volien Capt. J. Lewis after authorities could not identify him. the only memory a word Natick haunted him until a telegram confirmed his identity.
Fifteen building permits for new construction worth $154,700 were issued at the city building inspector's office. Holdings include P. J. Washington May 24 ownership of the harbor railroad facilities at Corpus Christi by a single system will not be allowed. The Interstate Commerce Commission will deny the San Antonio Uvalde Gulf Railroad permission to take over harbor rails from the Nueces County Navigation District, which runs the port.

John Olsock, a laborer, forced a kitchen window and entered the home. He shot his daughter Jennie, 27, as she lay in bed then wounded his wife Florence Oldoch, 48, in the stomach before fatally shooting himself. A second daughter survived. Police say he had been estranged from his wife for five months and had been ordered from the home.
