Solomon Says Confusion Over Draft Rules Causes Confusion
Clarence L. Solomon, spokesman for Bexar county draft boards, warns that confusion over new rules will persist. He states deferment depends on both a man’s age and the draft board’s position, with 26 through 37 eligible if engaged in essential or health safety activities. The plan lists 35 activities and subdivisions, with delinquents facing induction if they fail to obtain board permission, while boards vary in enforcing quotas and may ignore federal guidance.
